Ready Riverside

About OEM

Ready Campaign

Launched in February 2003, Ready is a national public service advertising (PSA) campaign designed to educate and empower Americans to prepare for and respond to emergencies including natural and man-made disasters. The goal of the campaign is to get the public involved and ultimately to increase the level of basic preparedness across the nation.

Ready Riverside

The Ready campaign was localized to Riverside in 2011 to assist City of Riverside residents and business in their preparedness efforts.  The campaign was expanded in 2019 to not only focus on preparedness but to highlight resilience initiatives.

Ready Riverside is a product of the City of Riverside Fire Department’s Office of Emergency Management. The City of Riverside's Office of Emergency Management (OEM), also known as the City of Riverside Fire Department’s Special Services Division administers a comprehensive all-hazards community-based emergency management program. Riverside OEM promotes a disaster resistant and resilient community through partnerships with all levels of government entities, businesses, non-governmental organizations and the residents and visitors of the City of Riverside.

The welfare and safety of city residents and visitors is of utmost importance to the Office of Emergency Management. The Office of Emergency Management plans and prepares for emergencies, incidents and events that will have an impact on the City of Riverside. OEM maintains a robust preparedness effort through our Community Emergency Response Team training and resident and city employee public education events. Working with partner organizations we work to identify and mitigate issues prior to an incident. OEM also coordinates the response and recovery efforts through the activation of our EOC.
