Electric: Proposed Rates
The City of Riverside Public Utilities department has submitted a five-year rate plan proposal to the Board of Public Utilities and City Council for electric rate increases.
The current electric rate plan expires on December 31, 2023.

The Why

Increased costs for natural gas

To meet City Council approved Electric Fund Balance reserve levels to demonstrate and maintain strong bond ratings, which allow the City to finance future projects at the lowest cost possible.

Needed routine maintenance, repairs/replacements and to continue exceptional service levels along with funding construction projects to ensure the current and long term viability of the electric grid.
