Mayor Bailey Addresses Release of Riverside County Department of Public Health’s COVID-19 Statistics

Published: 03/27/2019

A message from Mayor Bailey: As you may know, the Riverside County Department of Public Health now has enough data to begin releasing information regarding the number of COVID-19 cases on a city-by-city basis, without jeopardizing patient confidentiality.

This is a departure from previous practice, which had grouped cases together by sections of the county, with Riverside in the “Western Riverside County” group. This information can be found at www.rivcoph.org/coronavirus

Not surprisingly, as the largest city in Riverside County, we are among the cities with the highest number of cases. And we know that these numbers will increase as our medical personnel test more people. This should not be shocking to anyone, but it does reinforce the need to strictly adhere to the measures designed to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

As you head into another weekend, we hope that you are being mindful to love on your families, to reach out to those who may need support or (virtual) company, and to manage your own personal stress.

All levels of government are working to provide resources to support you during this uncertain time. We will intermittently release information on the resources available.

Stay strong, Riverside, and most of all, take care of one another.
