Housing Rehabilitation Program

The City of Riverside's Housing Rehabilitation Program provides eligible homeowners with financial assistance to rehabilitate their homes. Eligible repairs include those needed to bring the home up to standard and may include health and safety risks, ADA enhancements, lead based paint or termite repairs, correction of code violations and some general improvements. Funding for this program comes from grant funds awarded to the City of Riverside by the California Department of Housing and Community Development.

Rehabilitation Loans

The maximum loan amount for rehabilitation is $60,000. Loans are interest-free and payments are deferred for 30 years. Loans are secured by a Promissory Note and a Deed of Trust recorded on the property. Deferred loans become due and payable when the home is no longer owner-occupied, or upon the resale, transfer of title, refinancing of the property with cash out, or death of borrower, whichever comes first.

This program may be available to you if you live in the City of Riverside, have owned and lived in your home for at least a year, and your household income is less than 80% of the County's Median Income.
