Fatal Traffic Collision

RIVERSIDE, CA – On Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at approximately 9:26 PM the City of Riverside Emergency Dispatch center received calls of a three vehicle traffic collision with a subject ejected from a vehicle on Riverwalk Parkway at Pierce St. Riverside Police and Fire personnel arrived at the scene and located the subject suffering from major injures.
 

It appears due to the initial investigation and witness statements a silver 2011 Toyota Camry being driven southbound on Golden Ave. by a 44 year old resident of Riverside at a high rate of speed failed to stop for a steady red signal at Pierce St. Upon entering the intersection the Toyota struck a white 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer being driven by a 25 year old resident of Riverside westbound on Pierce St. The Toyota then collided with a maroon 2009 Nissan Sentra being driven by a 23 year old resident of Riverside westbound on Pierce St. making a left turn to go southbound on Riverwalk Parkway. The Toyota overturned ejecting the driver. The driver suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced at the scene. The driver of the Nissan was transported to Riverside Community Hospital with major injuries and is in stable condition. The driver of the Mitsubishi was treat at the scene.
 

The Riverside Police Departments Major Accident Investigation Team responded and is currently investigating. The release of the identity of the deceased is pending the coroner’s investigation.
