    At 1734 hours the City of Riverside Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 3891 Polk Street.  Initial reports were that a person was trapped in their apartment so AMR was requested to respond.  The first arriving unit found smoke showing from the balcony of a second story apartment.  Fire attack was initiated and the damage was confined to the room of origin. All of the residents were able to exit the apartment before the arrival of fire crews.   A residential sprinkler system activated in the apartment, causing additional water damage.  A total of three patients were treated at the scene for minor burns and smoke inhalation.  One was transported to the hospital in stable condition.  The loss to the building and contents was estimated at $50,000 with a save of $500,000.  The Red Cross was contacted for the displaced residents.  The cause of the fire was unintentional.
