    City of Riverside Fire Department personnel are currently operating at the scene of a working structure fire in the 2500 block of Prospect Ave.  The fire is in a small, residential home.  There are no reported injuries and the cause is unknown.  Updates will be provided as information becomes available.

    FINAL UPDATE:

    On Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 3:54 p.m., The City of Riverside Fire Department responded a first alarm structure fire assignment to the 2500 Block of Prospect for reports of a residential structure fire.  The Chief Officer reported smoke showing while responding and requested an additional engine company.  The first due Chief Office arrived on scene and discovered a single story, single family dwelling well involved in fire with one exposure.  Firefighters performed an aggressive fire attack along with coordinated vertical roof ventilation. 

    A primary search was conducted with no civilians located in the structure.  The fire was contained to the building of origin with no damage to exposures.  Arson Investigators responded to the incident and performed an investigation.  Cause of the fire is intentional pending further investigation. 

    There were no civilian or firefighter injuries.  The loss to the structure is estimated at $100,000 with a save of $300,000 and an exposure save of $800,000.
