The City of Riverside Fire Department is currently under the purview of the 2023-2028 Strategic Plan. The development and implementation process of this plan has ensured - and will continue to ensure - that the Department provides a high-level of emergency services as well as better understands and addresses current and emergent organizational needs. Feedback was solicited from both the community and employees throughout the planning stages.
The overall objective of the process is to discover how to tailor Fire Department services to satisfy the changing needs of Riverside residents while aligning with the City’s 2025 Strategic Plan, Envision Riverside, and the 10th Edition Commission on Fire Accreditation International Accreditation Model.
The Riverside Fire Department has achieved a Class 1 ISO rating which ranks the City of Riverside Fire Department as one of only 77 fire departments in the U.S. and Canada that are both accredited and have an ISO Class 1 rating, and one of only 6 in California.
