Riverside, CA (June 24, 2022) Summer has arrived and so has a new season of “The Flame,” Inlandia’s three-part workshop and LIVE storytelling event. Inspired by PRX’s “The Moth Radio Hour,” The Flame presents its own theme-based storytelling experience right here in the Inland Empire. Workshops led by Stevie Taken and Sabrina Harris begin July 7 at Riverside Studios. This summer’s theme is Life Journeys: Don’t Stop Believing!

For many, summer is a point of departure, change, or reflection. It’s a time for family vacations, long road trips, beach days, and new adventures. For those who have recently graduated, it may mean a new chapter in life. For others, it could be a moment of transition. Some prefer a “staycation” spent reading, writing, or watching Netflix. But whether you aspire to wanderlust or solitude, we all experience change brought about by cycles of beginnings and endings. These are the stories of what makes us who we are. The Flame would love for you to share the story of your life's journey with us this July.

Over the course of three workshops, participants will work together as a group to enhance their storytelling skills, culminating in a live performance on Thursday, July 21, at 6:30 PM. All three workshops plus the final event will be held at Riverside Studios. Spaces are limited, so please reach out as soon as possible to sign up to participate. All participants must be available for all four dates and times.

To submit for participation, please send an email to Stevie Taken ([email protected]) with a short (1-2 paragraphs) summary of the story you would like to share.

All stories must be true, told in first-person, and have happened to you!
