Doors Open, the program that gives you a chance to look inside historic and significant buildings in Riverside, is looking for additional buildings to add to this year’s tour. Organizers are looking for new locations, including buildings and structures across the City that have architectural significance and would be willing to open their doors on Saturday, May 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

At the inaugural event in 2016, an estimated 1,000 people took the opportunity to tour historic churches and buildings downtown including several not normally open to the public. Currently it is the only event of its type in California! Most tours begin at 10 a.m. and occur every twenty minutes. The event is a partnership between the City of Riverside, the Mission Inn Foundation, and the Riverside Downtown Partnership. The format of the event will be similar to last year and tour guides from the Mission Inn Museum docents will be available for those who wish.

Marketing of the event will include website, social media and magazine ads. If you know of a building that has historic or architectural interest, email Janice Penner at [email protected] or register your location at DoorsOpenRiverside.com.
