About the Project

The Brockton Avenue Water Main Replacement Project is a maintenance and repair project to improve the operation and reliability of Riverside Public Utilities’ existing water distribution infrastructure along Brockton Avenue, from 14th Street to Mission Inn Avenue, and along 13th Street, from Locust Street to Brockton Avenue.


Scope of Work

Work includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Installation of approximately 3,960 feet of pipeline
  • 48 domestic water services connections
  • Installation of 3 new fire hydrants and abandon 3 existing fire hydrants
  • Pavement restoration

Anticipated Project Timeline & Details

When: Summer 2022 – Spring 2023

The work will generally occur on weekdays between the hours of 7:30 AM and 4:30 PM. Small portions of the work will occur at nighttime and over select weekends to minimize inconveniences to the public.

The work will progress over several months and will be executed in segments to minimize impacts to the area. Two-way traffic along Brockton Avenue is expected to be maintained.

If your property is in close proximity to the water distribution pipeline along Brockton Avenue or 13th Street the work may affect your water service for a short period when reconnection is made to the new pipe. RPU field crews will notify affected customers prior to any service disruptions.

Customers who may be impacted by this work will be notified by mail before the work starts.
