Police Officer Trainee
Those applicants not meeting the minimum
qualifications for Lateral / Entry Police Officer may be hired
as Police Officer Trainee until successful completion of a California Basic
P.O.S.T.
Academy. A Police
Officer Trainee is an entry level Applicant.
Police Officer Entry
A Police Officer Entry applicant must have
completed a California Basic P.O.S.T.
Academy or have been employed as a
full-time sworn peace officer with a State of California law enforcement agency.
Those Applicants currently enrolled in a California Basic
P.O.S.T.
Academy
may be accepted conditionally pending a successful completion of
the California Basic P.O.S.T.
Academy.
Police Officer Lateral
A Police Officer Lateral applicant must
have completed a California Basic P.O.S.T.
Academy and must currently be employed
as a Police Officer, Deputy Sheriff or related Law Enforcement
Officer with a State of
California
law enforcement agency.
