Get Home Safe

The Get Home Safe Program offers FREE ID BRACELETS for people with Alzheimer's and other cognitive impairment disorders.

What is the Get Home Safe Program?

The Riverside Police Department is offering free Smart Medical ID bracelets through our Get Home Safe program. The bracelet is worn by at risk persons and is used by Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Personnel to help identify a found person that may not be able to provide information about themselves.

The information found in the profile helps first responders locate, identify, and most importantly, get a lost person home safe. This program is free to all Riverside residents.

How Does it Work?

The Riverside Police Department is offering free Smart Medical ID bracelets to all Riverside residents. The bracelet contains a unique code that is linked to an electronic profile where you can provide a current photograph, emergency medical information (allergies, etc), and emergency contact information. You choose how much information you want to provide.

What are the Benefits?

One in nine people over the age of 60 is afflicted with Alzheimer's disease. With approximately 10,000 Baby Boomers turning 60 every day, it is a significant and growing problem. Over 4500 Riverside residents are afflicted with Alzheimer's or dementia. This population is especially vulnerable to becoming confused, wandering, and, unfortunately, some are victimized while they are unsupervised.

This is why the Riverside Police Department is making it a priority to help safeguard our residents. If If you or someone you care for is a Riverside resident who is afflicted with Alzheimer's or dementia, we want to help.
