Full Text:

Canyon Crest Station Fire Station #14 A-Shift crew performing above and beyond customer service.

On February 24, 2015, A Mother with 2 kids and a cat in route to Michigan in a tired 1998 Expedition pulled into the parking lot of the Canyon Crest Fire Station #14 with a shredded engine belt. She asked if they could use the restroom as they waited for a tow service to come out and fix the engine problem. As they waited Captain Jeremiah looked up Napa Auto Parts for a replacement belt to see if we could save the mother some money. Captain Jeremiah called Napa Auto Parts on University and Karen the manager said she?d give us a good rate and have it delivered to the fire station. Firefighter/Paramedic Brandon Mollicone generously paid for the belt out of pocket. Captain Jeremiah informed the driver and she was delighted and thankful for us saving her a hefty repair bill. Napa delivered the belt in less than 15 minutes and the crew had a YouTube University session on an easy and practical install of a serpentine belt on a 5.4 liter ford engine. As soon as we got the belt on, we ran the engine for a test and everything worked. However, we had to leave for a medical aid incident before the crew could get the families name but, she said they had already posted the story on twitter and Facebook.
