    Current Situation

(Recent updates are posted at the top of the Current Situation)

All units responded to a tree fire in the area of Dexter Drive near the VFW. On arrival Truck 1 found about 20 palm trees and the surrounding grass on fire. Two additional engines were requested as the fire was moving upslope towards several homes.  The fire was contained to about ½ acre and the palm trees within. Reports of a homeless person starting the fire and fleeing the area were provided to RPD for further investigation. After searching the area no suspect matching the description was located.

    No civilian or firefighter injuries.
