    Current Situation

(Recent updates are posted at the top of the Current Situation)

The City of Riverside Fire Department responded of a reported possible structure fire at the Target Store located on the 3300 Block of Arlington Avenue in the City of Riverside.  Upon arrival the first-in crews noted a sprinkler activation inside of the store.  All customers and workers had already evacuated the store before the fire department arrived on scene.  Upon further investigation fire crews discovered a very small fire in the ceiling area above the electronics section of the store which had been put out by the sprinkler system.  No other portions of the store were damaged by fire.  Firefighters shut down the sprinkler system to minimize further damage to the store and its merchandise.  We also assisted with salvaging of store merchandise and removal of water from the facility.  No one was hurt as a result of the incident which remains under investigation at this time.  The incident was then turned over to Target management personnel.
