(Recent updates are posted at the top of the Current Situation)

On Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 12:19 p.m., The City of Riverside Fire Department responded a first alarm structure fire assignment to the 3400 Block of Sun Ct. for reports of a residential house on fire.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find a single story single family residential house with an attached garage with fire in the garage.  Firefighters performed an aggressive fire attack holding the fire to the garage and rescuing three dogs from the house.  Firefighters performed a primary and secondary search and no residents were found.

Firefighters contained the fire to the garage and performed salvage along with overhaul.  The cause of the fire was determined to be the dryer and possibly a clogged lent vent.  Damage to the house was estimated at $70,000 with a save of $300,000.  The residents were given a California Save Card worth $250.00 to aide in the recovery of the incident.  Electrical and Gas were shut off to the residential house due to the extensive damage in the garage.  There were no civilian or firefighter injuries.  The residents were re-united with their family pets.
