(Recent updates are posted at the top of the Current Situation)

The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle collision with fire at the intersection of Spruce Street and the 91 Freeway. Upon arrival, the first due Company Officer found a vehicle that had left the roadway at a high rate of speed, collided with a palm tree, and came to rest upside down and on fire in a drainage ditch. Riverside firefighters used a ladder to climb down to the vehicle and extinguish it. The driver, believed to be in her late twenties, was dead at the scene. The scene was left with RPD, who will be standing by for the coroner.
