(Recent updates are posted at the top of the Current Situation)

On January 29, 2020 at 11:25 a.m., The City of Riverside Fire Department responded a single engine company to the 7100 block of Orchard Street for a report of powerline down due to a tree branch.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find a 12’ diameter pine tree and approx. 100’ high had toppled over in the Santa Ana winds crushing two passenger vehicles to the front of a residential house.  Service connections to two houses were interrupted.  Orchard was closed off between Washington and Rossmuir.

Riverside Public Utilities, city streets and the city urban forester were requested to the incident.  The incident scene was turned over to the Riverside Public Utilities.  There were no civilian or firefighter injuries.
