(Recent updates are posted at the top of the Current Situation)

On Sunday August 29, 2021 at 5:24 p.m., The City of Riverside Fire Department, AMR and CHP responded to the Eastbound 91 Freeway at the Downtown Interchange for an overturned Semi-Truck Tanker carrying milk.  The Tanker Truck was hauling approximately 7,000 gallons of milk.  An unknown quantity spilled onto the freeway and into the storm drain.  The Semi-Truck was the only vehicle involved in the incident.  The Driver of the vehicle was treated on scene and released.  The entire Eastbound 91 Freeway was shut-down for the duration of the incident.

The Haz-Mat Team along with Riverside County Environmental Health responded to the incident.  CAL-OES was notified of the spill and unknown quantity into the storm drain.  The Towing Company will be handling the clean-up of the Milk on the freeway.
