    Current Situation

    On June 8, 2020 at 7:33 a.m., The City of Riverside Fire Department responded a second alarm vegetation fire response to Fairmount Park at 2601 Fairmount Blvd.  Firefighters arrived on scene to discover an unattended homeless camp-fire that had escaped into the vegetation.   The fire was burning a large spot of 20’ x 20’ in light to heavy fuels.  Firefighter contained the fire to the area of origin, extinguished the fire, mitigated hazard trees and provided perimeter control.  Firefighters were on scene for two hours.  A total of 22 firefighters, one chief officer and one safety officer responded to the incident.  There were no firefighter injuries.
