    Current Situation

(Recent updates are posted at the top of the Current Situation)

On September 15, 2021 at 2:15 pm, the City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire near Alessandro Blvd and Sycamore Canyon Blvd.  The first arriving unit reported smoke showing from a large, commercial tilt-up at Meridian Pkwy and Cactus Ave.  The building was located within Riverside County Fire jurisdiction.  A response from Cal Fire was requested as well as a second alarm from the City of Riverside.  Units made access and discovered a fire involving the roof structure and a large solar array.  Fire had progressed from the roof area and into the warehouse where large pallet racks with clothing caught fire.  Crews performed an aggressive and coordinated attack from the interior as well as the roof.  Cal Fire resources arrived and both agencies worked together to mitigate the fire.  The location experienced a fire under similar circumstances on Sunday, September 12.  There were no injuries reported.
