    Current Situation

(Recent updates are posted at the top of the Current Situation)

The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire in a mult-family apartment at Collette and Hole.  Upon arrival, fire personnel found a working fire in an upstairs apartment unit in a 4 unit building.  All residents had safely evacuated prior to fire department arrival.  Firefighters performed an aggressive fire attack and contained fire damage to one apartment unit.  Water damage was sustained in the apartment below the fire room.  Red Cross was requested to assist with 20 displaced residents.   An investigation was conducted and the cause was determined to be the result of plastic-ware being stored inside an oven.  The oven was accidentally turned on and the contents caught fire.  There were no reported injuries to the residents or firefighters.  Two Supplying Aid to Victims of Emergencies (SAVE) cards were issued to the residents whose homes sustained fire and water damage.
