    Current Situation

(Recent updates are posted at the top of the Current Situation)

The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a report of smoke inside a structure in the mobile home park located at 3663 Buchanan Street. There were reports of a subject possibly being trapped in the structure, so AMR Ambulance and 2 additional engines companies, as well as a breathing support were added to the response. The 1st due Engine Company arrived to find a double-wide mobile home well involved in fire with neighbors reporting that an occupant was possibly trapped inside. Riverside City firefighters quickly deployed hose lines on the exterior of the structure to make it safe to gain access into the interior. Once inside, firefighters simultaneously attacked the fire while searching for occupants. No occupants were found in the structure, however 3 dogs, and a hedgehog were discovered deceased within the structure. A second hedgehog was found alive, and given to the homeowners. The cause of the fire was undetermined after an investigation. The home was a total loss. 3 occupants were displaced, but were able to make other housing arrangements. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries as a result of the fire.
