    Current Situation

(Recent updates are posted at the top of the Current Situation)

On October 29th at 11:58 AM, The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a tree fire at the 8300 block of Basswood Ave.  Fire Department crews arrived and found a wind driven fire behind the houses on Basswood.  The response was upgraded to a full structure assignment due to an immediate threat to structures.  Fire crews made an aggressive attack on the fire and were able to contain the fire to the back yards at four residences.  Two outbuilding were damaged because of the fire.  The high winds caused an energized power line to fail, and the surrounding vegetation caught fire.  There were not any civillian or firefighter injuries reported.
