Child Abuse Prevention Month - Flag Raising

Tuesday, March 28, 2023

In April, as part of National Child Abuse Prevention Month, stakeholders across the country will gather to recognize the importance of communities working together to strengthen families to prevent child abuse and neglect. In Riverside County, we will also use this opportunity to educate the public on the thoughtful care that goes into caring for our children should a report of suspected abuse be received and the difficult work our first responders and social workers do on behalf of children each and every day. In 2021 alone, Riverside County caseworkers responded to 51,500 reports of child abuse and neglect. It will take support from our entire community to impact change in this area.

On Tuesday, March 28th, 2023, at 4 p.m., the County of Riverside, Family Service Association and the HOPE Collaborative, will host a flag raising ceremony to honor child victims who have been abused, neglected, or have lost their life from abuse or neglect. This will serve as our kick-off event for the Riverside County Child Abuse Prevention Month.
