Weatherization Rebate Application

The Weatherization Rebate Program is a whole house approach to improving the energy efficiency of residential homes in Riverside Public Utilities’ electric service territory.

The program is open to all RPU residential electric customers.

Rebates are available for attic and exterior wall insulation, Energy Star-rated window and door replacements, whole house fans, and solar-powered attic fans.

What are the Weatherization Program benefits?
By utilizing one, or combinations of, the qualifying conservation efforts, homeowners can greatly increase the energy efficiency of their homes and reduce overall energy consumption.

What qualifies for a rebate, and what are the rebate amounts?
For a limited time receive triple rebates on select insulation products below! Applications for triple rebates must be received by June 1, 2010.
Weatherization Rebate Amounts
Conservation Measure Minimum Rating Rebate
Attic Insulation* R-19 10 ¢ per sq. ft.
R-30+ TRIPLE Rebates Available 45 ¢ per sq. ft.
Exterior Wall Insulation* R-13+ TRIPLE Rebates Available 15¢ per sq. ft
*Rebates will be calculated for nearest R-value

Window Replacement

 Energy Star® rated $1.00 per sq. ft.
Door Replacement Energy Star® rated $1.00 per sq. ft.
Whole House Fans Installation will not count towards purchase price $200
Solar-Powered Attic Fan Installation will not count towards purchase price $200 (limit 2)

Current building code compliance, the choice of improvements, the selection of dealers, the purchase of items and acceptance of materials used, work performed and the payments thereof are the customer's responsibility.

Riverside Public Utilities reserves the right to determine eligibility and modify or discontinue this program without prior notice at its discretion. Program is subject to fund availability.
What do I need to do to receive a rebate?
Complete the Weatherization Rebate Application, attach copies of the dated sales receipt(s), and mail to:

Weatherization Program Guidelines
  • Program is subject to fund availability and may be cancelled at any time.
  • Customers must fulfill all program guidelines, program specific and general RPU program guidelines, to be eligible for incentives.
  • Rebates are based on total square footage purchased (except whole house fans and solar attic fans). Labor, additional parts, and tax are excluded.
  • Products must meet or exceed ratings, and are subject to approval by RPU. ENERGY STAR® rated products can be found at www.energystar.gov.
  • All General Program Guidelines apply.
