Riverside Public Utilities High Efficiency Clothes Washer Rebate
Program!
The High Efficiency Clothes Washer Rebate is an energy and water
conservation incentive program that offers Riverside Public Utilities'
(RPU) residential customers a chance to replace their existing
high energy and water use clothes washer with high efficiency clothes
washers (HECW).
HECW must be Energy Star rated and have a water factor of 4 or less per load.
What Are The Rebate Amounts?
The level of incentive on qualified units is $80 for RPU water
customers.
There is also an energy rebate incentive of $75 available to RPU
electric customers.
If a customer receives both water and electric services from RPU,
they could receive up to $155 for the installation of a qualified
High Efficiency Clothes Washer.

High Efficiency Washer Program Guidelines
Program is subject to fund availability and may be cancelled at any time.
This program is available to RPU residential electric and
water customers. If applicant is a tenant or renter, the property
owner must sign the application.
HECWs must be Energy StarŪ rated and have a water factor of 4 or less per load.
The installation of the HECW must be replacing units using a higher volume of energy and water per load.
Qualified units must be installed and in operation at the customer's service address before applying for a rebate.
Once the HECW is installed, mail your application along with your ORIGINAL dated sales receipt as proof of purchase to Riverside Public Utilities. Make sure to copy the receipt for your records.
HECW's are subject to inspection for program compliance.
Customer's failure to permit such inspections shall obligate
the customer to repay the amount of the incentive received
by the customer for that installation. The incentive amount
shall be billed on the customer's regular utility billing cycle
from the City and shall be a part of the customer's utility
service charge payable to the City.
Customer must sign liability agreement on the application.
