| :: Water Efficient Toilet Rebates |
Now, more than ever, it is important that we reduce the amount of water we use. One of the easiest ways to reduce water use at home is to install new, water efficient toilets.
Inside the house, toilets are the biggest water users, accounting for nearly 30 percent of indoor water use. Toilets built between 1980 and 1994 use 3.5 gallons per flush (gpf), and there are even older toilets that waste to up to 5 gpf!
Ultra Low-Flush Toilets (ULFTs) have cut that down to only 1.6 gallons per flush or less, while High Efficiency Toilets (HETs) use just 1.3 gpf or less. There are also HET Dual Flush toilets that offer a separate low water use flush for liquids that only use between .8 to 1.1 gpf.
Working with the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, Riverside Public Utilities offers its water customers rebates for installing water saving ULFTs or HETs. Click on one of the links below to find out more about these great rebate programs.
ULFT Rebate Program
Receive a rebate of $55 for replacing a high water use toilet with an Ultra Low Flush Toilet that use just 1.6 gallons per flush or less.
HET Rebate Program
