Riverside, Calif. – Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) recently received three Awards of Merit for its work creating an economic development rate, and for its internal and external communications efforts.
The California Association for Local Economic Development (CALED) presented RPU with an Award of Merit at its annual Awards of Excellence recognition ceremony for the utility’s Temporary Economic Development rate program, which entices new commercial customers to move to Riverside by offering reduced energy rates for the first few years.
CALED is the premier statewide professional economic development organization dedicated to advancing its members’ ability to achieve excellence in delivering economic development services to their communities and business clients.
The utility also received Awards of Merit for its internal quarterly “RPU News” employee newsletter, and its 2012-13 Financial Report in the 2014 California Association of Public Information Officers’ (CAPIO) “Excellence in Communications” awards competition.
CAPIO, an affiliate of the League of California Cities, serves professionals throughout the public sector who engage communities through honest and transparent communication, providing California-focused education and networking to help members and their agencies develop and advance.
