RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES “WHOLE HOUSE” PROGRAM ALLOWS YOU TO BUNDLE IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR BIGGER REBATES

8/27/2013

Riverside, Calif. – The kids may be back in school, and that trip you took just a memory, but summer temperatures in the Inland Empire can last well into October.

So it’s always the right season to take advantage of the many energy and water conservation rebate programs that Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) has to offer that can make your home more efficient, and help to lower your utility bills year-round.

Whether you are purchasing new energy efficient Energy Star rated appliances, windows, doors, ceiling fans, or room air conditioners; upgrading your attic and wall insulation and duct work; or installing a new air conditioner unit, there is a rebate that can help. We’ve even got a number of water conservation rebates that can reduce your water use both inside the house and out.

But wait, we’re just getting to the good part. If you plan on making several improvements at the same time, RPU’s “Whole House” program will allow you to bundle your rebates together. That not only adds up to increased water and energy efficiency, it also means bigger rebates – up to 250 percent more!

When you install a minimum of two energy and/or water efficiency measures from these qualified programs at once, the improvements are assigned “efficiency points.” The total number of points determines which of four tiers your rebate would fall into: 1-6 points, 100% rebate; 7-9 points, 150% rebate; 10-19 points, 200% rebate; over 20 points, 250% rebate. Program restrictions apply.
