Riverside, Calif. – Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) customers have until June 30 to redeem their 2013 Free Shade Tree Coupons on the backs of their March bills.
Coupons can only be redeemed at one of the following participating nurseries: Louie’s Nursery, 16310 Porter Avenue; Parkview Nursery, 4377 Chicago Avenue; or Parkview Nursery, 3841 Jackson Street.
Coupons allow customers to receive one free qualifying shade tree (up to $25 in value) to plant near their homes or businesses which will help to shade buildings and assist with offsetting summer cooling costs.
Now in its 12th year, the popular program has provided more than 125,000 free shade trees to RPU customers that have helped to beautify the community and provide energy savings.
The Utility’s E-bill (paperless) customers must request their coupons by logging into www.RiversidePublicUtilities.com/ebilltree no later than Friday, June 21 to receive a coupon to redeem by mail. Customers requesting coupons after that date must claim them in person no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, June 28 at RPU’s offices located at 3750 University Avenue, 3rd Floor, in Riverside, and redeem them by June 30.
While the free coupon program is expiring for this year, RPU electric customers can still participate in the utility’s Tree Power rebate program all year round and receive up to $25 per tree back on five additional shade trees (up to $125). Some restrictions apply. For complete details visit GreenRiverside.com or contact the city’s call center at 826-5311.
