Riverside, Calif. – Three of Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) marketing, advertising, and communications pieces were recognized in state and international awards competitions this month.
The California Association of Public Information Officials (CAPIO) awarded their top prize Award of Excellence in the print graphics category of their annual CAPIO Excellence in Communications Awards competition to RPU’s “Lighting Has Evolved” advertisement that highlights new energy-efficient light bulbs.
The group also honored the utility with its third prize Award of Merit in the marketing and communications category for the utility’s “Tree Power” marketing campaign, which encourages electric customers to plant shade trees around their properties that can help to offset summer cooling costs.
Meanwhile, the League of American Communications Professionals (LACP) recognized RPU’s internal “RPU News” employee newsletter with a Bronze Award in its 2012 Inspire Awards Corporate Publishing Competition. RPU was one of just a handful of companies to receive recognition this year from the LACP which received more than 550 entries from over a dozen countries.
