RIVERSIDE BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES WELCOMES NEW MEMBERS, NAMES NEW CHAIRS

3/1/2013

Riverside, Calif. – The City of Riverside’s Board of Public Utilities welcomed three new members, and named its new Chair and Vice Chair at its regularly scheduled meeting today.

New members who were sworn in to their first terms included: Ronald Cole, Kevin Ferguson, and Andrew Walcker. Justin Scott-Coe, who began his second four-year term today was selected to act as Board Chair for the next year, while Ian Davidson, who has been on the Board since 2007, was selected to serve as Vice Chair.

The Board of Public Utilities is composed of nine citizen-volunteers appointed by the City Council to four-year terms without compensation. Board members oversee the utility's policies, operations, revenues, expenditures, planning, and regulatory compliance.

In addition to bi-weekly Board meetings, members also serve on subcommittees to provide input on the development of new facilities and equipment; performance measures; programs to conserve energy and water resources; and appropriate technology to protect our water supply and secure our energy resources.

The citizen-volunteers who serve on the Board of Public Utilities provide an ongoing, year-round review of all actions by Riverside Public Utilities before any measure is sent to the elected City Council representatives for final determination.

Meetings are open to the public and are held at 8:30 a.m. on the first and third Fridays of each month. Currently meetings are held in the Public Utilities Board Room at 3901 Orange Street, Riverside CA.
