Riverside Public Utilities is committed to helping make Riverside a greener place to live by committing ourselves to supporting renewable, environmentally friendly electric power sources, and sustainable living practices. In fact, the City of Riverside will receive 50% of its total power from renewable resources by 2013.

Since 1999, RPU customers have saved kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity by utilizing our energy saving rebate programs. This kWh savings is equivalent to taking cars off the road and has prevented the need for
power plants to be built, saving about $.
Solar generation projects continue to grow in Riverside. There are currently
535.38.38 kW of residential,
81.86 kW of commercial, and
740.39 kW of Utilities funded solar projects producing
1357.63 kW of clean energy every day.
