The City of Riverside is committed to supporting and building
alternative methods of generating power through renewable resources.
An example is the 133-kilowatt Photovoltaic (solar) Generating
Station at the La Sierra Metrolink Station. This carport is entirely
paid for through public benefit funds, and is just one of the ways
the City of Riverside provides the community with renewable energy,
assuring our power needs are met today and in the future.

25-year life span, based on peak power ratings. Displaces;
- 6,583,500 lbs. of carbon dioxide
- 16,625 lbs. of nitrous oxides
- 53,200 lbs. of sulfur dioxide
- Eventual uses include an integrated
electric vehicle re-charging station
- According to the U.S.
Government’s
Energy Information Administration, one fourth of the air pollution
produced by burning fossil fuels is a by-product of electric
power production.
