:: Energy Management Systems Assistance Program
The Energy Management Systems program provides monetary incentives for energy management system upgrades for non-residential electric customers by assisting business electric customers with technology purchases that can provide energy savings and promote energy efficiency and conservation.

Projects that promote energy efficiency and energy conservation will be considered individually by Riverside Public Utilities.

  • Monetary Incentive - Incentives that help offset the cost of purchasing new high efficiency equipment.
  • Return on Investment - Daily savings on your energy consumption and electric bill from the installation of new high efficiency equipment.
  • Managing your resources - Effectively managing your resources can help your business or institution save money and increase efficiency.
Cash Incentive
The maximum energy management systems assistance rebate is $25,000 per metered electric account. The incentive will be the cost sharing of one-half (50%) the cost of the project. The incentive is based on the following:
Annual kWh Use (Aggregated Load) Incentive
7 Million and over $25,000
2.5 to 6.9 Million $15,000
Below 2.5 Million $5,000

Program Guidelines
  • Program is subject to fund availability and may be cancelled at any time.
  • Incentive is available for the purchase of one energy management system per electric account per calendar year
  • Customer will be required to enter an agreement with RPU to establish that the system demonstrates the proposed savings.
  • All General Program Guidelines apply.
