Over the last 13 years, Mr. Wright, in various capacities, has provided leadership and guidance to Riverside Public Utilities. In January 2006, Dave was named Public Utilities General Manager overseeing electric and water operations with combined budget in excess of $273 million and employing a staff of 470 people.

During Wright’s initial year as General Manager, Riverside Public Utilities:

• Completed a comprehensive Long-Range Strategic Plan for both water and electric utilities;
• Financially and operationally navigated through California’s tumultuous post-electric deregulation environment;
• Developed a Long-term Water Facilities Master Plan to protect Riverside’s aging $1 billion water treatment and delivery system;
• Enhanced customer relations and services and expanded the Utilities’ community outreach and involvement;
• Upgraded the Utilities’ electric bond rating to AA-, potentially saving customers millions of dollars in interest for years to come.

Wright’s professional and community activities include the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce Board of Directors and the Mayor’s Multi-Cultural Task Force.
