Riverside is known as the City of Trees.  Thanks to our founders and continued generations of committed citizens and government officials, a lush Urban Forest has been created in our community.
Trees provide many aesthetic, environmental, and economic values, including clean air and increased property values.

The City of Riverside Public Utilities and Public Works De­partments trims all city-owned and privately-owned trees away from power lines throughout Riverside.  You can help keep people and property safe by planting right-sized trees on your property near power lines.
Urban Forest Policy Urban Forest Policy
Urban Forestry is under the direction of the Public Works Department. It oversees some 100,000 street trees and another 30,000+ trees in parks and open space areas and is responsible for maintaining the City's trees.

City trees are trimmed approximately every five years.  If you have any questions about power lines around City trees, or tree trimming, tree removal or sewer line issues, please use this form.
Trimming of street trees is currently on a five-year trim cycle. Please see the Tree Trimming Grid Map to find out when your tree is scheduled for trimming.
