Robbery and Carjacking Suspects Arrested
Riverside, Ca- On May 30, 2007 at about 1:20 PM three suspects in a vehicle confronted a victim as he drove through the gate of his apartment complex in the 1800 block 12th Street. The suspects brandished a knife and attempted to take the victimís vehicle by force. They fled in their own vehicle when the victim resisted.
Alert officers noted that the suspect vehicle matched the description of a Rubidoux robbery that had been broadcast by Riverside Sheriffs Office wherein a male victim was beaten and hospitalized.
Shortly after the 12th St attempted Carjacking, another attempt robbery was reported in the area of the Public Utilities near 4th Street and Orange Street in the downtown area. Alert witnesses in each case provided valuable information regarding the suspectís descriptions and direction of travel.
Just as this crime was being broadcasted, Riverside police officers found the vehicle driving near Linden and Iowa. With assistance from North and East patrol and POP officers, the vehicle was successfully stopped and three suspects were arrested without incident for multiple robberies and attempted robberies. Property belonging to the robbery victim was located during the arrest.
Each were booked into Robert Presley Detention Center n Riverside.
