Riverside, Ca- On Thursday, March 29, 2007, at 1:42 A.M., Riverside Police Officers responded to the 10300-block of Arlington Avenue in reference to a 911 call. The caller advised that a male subject had been beaten with a metal pipe and was unconscious.
The suspects were described as two African American males and two Hispanic females who were last seen fleeing the area. Upon arrival, officers found the victim who was unconscious with life threatening injuries. The victim was transported to Parkview Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The victim’s identity is not being released pending notification to the next of kin by the Coroner’s Office.
One male suspect and one female suspect were located at a Riverside hospital where the male suspect was being treated for non-life threatening knife wounds to his torso. Patrol officers’ detained the other male and female suspects on Gould St.
Our preliminary investigation indicates the two male suspects were involved in a physical altercation with the victim in the 10000 block of Gould St., during which one of the suspects was cut. All four suspects then chased the victim to a gas station at the intersection of Tyler St. and Arlington Ave. There they attacked the victim with an angle iron bar and wooden sticks. The weapons were recovered at the scene.
