Tagging Crew Arrested

Riverside, Ca- On June 28, 2007 at 2:50 p.m. a resident saw several juveniles in the water drainage canal in the 5700 block of Arlington Avenue. The suspects were using spray paint and vandalizing the canal and surrounding area. The resident called the police and seven suspects were detained. The cement embankments of the water canal and adjoining block walls contained various tagging monikers and graffiti, which were done with an assortment of aerosol spray paint.

The suspects’ had been in the canal for several hours and had defaced over three hundred feet of the surrounding cement embankment and adjoining block walls. The monikers spray painted at the scene associated the suspects to a known tagging crew. The investigation revealed that five of the suspects’ were juveniles and two suspects were adults; one of which was a female. The investigation is on going and anyone with additional information pertaining to this tagging crew is encouraged to call Detective Cathy Nelson with the Riverside Police Department at (951) 353-7131.
