“Grandfather figure” arrested for molestation

Riverside, Ca- A Rubidoux drama coach surrendered to Riverside Police Thursday afternoon following an investigation of allegations that the man molested a 12-year-old boy in the victim’s residence in the La Sierra area of Riverside.

Leon OBIEN, 63, a resident of Highland, CA; is described as a family friend and “grandfather figure” to the victim and his family. Obien was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside Thursday on three counts of 288 PC -- lewd or lascivious act with a child under the age of 14 years.

Obien is also affiliated with SPS Studios, or Stage Presence Studios of the Arts, located at 6513 Clay St., in the Rubidoux area west of the city of Riverside, as an acting coach to young people.
