Homicide investigation update
Riverside Police seek public help identifying female victim

Riverside, Ca- Riverside Police Department is investigating a homicide discovered Tuesday morning, July 17 in an orange grove near the intersection of Dufferin Avenue and McAllister Street, in the Arlington Heights area of the city.

A pair of agricultural workers inspecting an orange grove discovered a large wrapped bundle at about 9 a.m., Tuesday, July 17. During the autopsy Wednesday, the body was determined to be that of an adult female, white or Hispanic, in her thirties or forties. The victim had medium length brown hair and hazel eyes, 56, 140 pounds. She was found wearing gold-colored hoop earrings in each ear, a black tank top, blue jeans and brown Air Walk brand tennis shoes with green soles.

The victim had several tattoos, including two that are quite distinctive: on her left ankle, there was a picture of the Disney character, Goofy, over a red rose. On the opposite side of the left ankle were the outline letters, J.T. On the lower back was a tattoo of a tall tulip flower and a scrolling design. It appears the victim may have borne children at some time. Tests found no fingerprint match.

Anyone with information helpful to this investigation is urged to contact Riverside Police Detectives Dave Smith at (951) 353-7103 or Jim Brandt at (951) 353-7137.
