Major Injury Traffic Collision
Riverside, Ca- On Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at 7:32 pm, a 1996 Honda Del Sol driven by an 18-year-old male, was driving on Jackson at the intersection of Del Ano with two juvenile passengers. At this same time a 1998 Chevy Astro van driven by a 54-year-old male was driving south on Jackson with his wife and minor child inside. According to evidence and statements, the Honda turned in front of the van causing a collision.
The collision sent the Honda south and over the south curb, ejecting one of the minor passengers. The van also continued south and stopped in the #1 and #2 lanes of northbound traffic.
Riverside Police and Fire were called to the scene and the occupants of the Honda were all treated at the scene and the driver and one minor passenger were taken to Riverside Community Hospital with head and body trauma injuries. The minorís condition was critical and the 18-year-old driver was listed as stable. The other minor passenger in the Honda was taken to Riverside County Regional Medical Center and his condition was stable with minor injuries.
The driver of the Chevy van sustained minor injuries and his two passengers were not injured.
