Riverside, Ca- On Saturday, November 18, 2006, at approximately 2:12 a.m., Riverside Police Department officers initially received a call of numerous shots fired in the area of the 7500 block of Evans Street. Another resident in the area called to report that two males were lying on the ground near their residence on Evans Street and that a vehicle had just loaded the victims into it and drove away.
Moments later, a caller from a nearby 76 Gas Station, which is located at 7494 Indiana Avenue advised that a vehicle had just dropped off two men there who were bleeding from gunshot wounds, then drove away. An American Medical Response Paramedic unit which happened to be at the gas station began giving medical treatment to the two men.
Officers arrived at the 76 Gas Station to find two males being treated for their injuries; both were suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to a local hospital where one male was subsequently pronounced dead, the other male is listed in serious condition.
The deceased is an 18-year-old Hispanic male whose identity is not being released, pending notification of relatives by the Coronerís Office. The surviving victim is a 16-year-old Hispanic male.
