Carjacking

Riverside, Ca- On March 15, 2006 at about 8:50 PM, Riverside Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a carjacking that had just occurred in the parking lot of the Del Taco restaurant at 10494 Magnolia Ave. A lone male suspect approached the victim as he sat in his car, brandished a handgun and demanded personal items as well as the car. The suspect drove away and was spotted by Corona Police officers on the 91 freeway.

Corona officers pursued the vehicle into the city of Placentia, where it crashed. Three male suspects fled on foot and were apprehended a short time later hiding in a residential neighborhood.

The suspects, two adults and a juvenile, were arrested and returned to Riverside to face various criminal charges.
