Police Investigate Gunshots
Riverside, Ca- On Wednesday, March 8, 2006 officers from the Riverside Police Department went to the area of Fairmount
Boulevard between Fourth and Fifth Avenues to a citizen report of shots heard. Officers arrived at 1233 hours and based on witness
statements, identified one multi-unit residence as possibly being involved.
The investigation led to the evacuation of all
residents of this building who were further questioned about the gunshot report. No one in the building claimed responsibility for
the report. Officers obtained consent to search the upper level apartment in question from one resident. Due to the report of gunfire
from this building, members of the Riverside Police Department Metro team led the search.
There were no injuries or property
damage found as a result of the shots fired. No weapons were found and the investigation is continuing. Evacuated residents were
allowed to return to their apartments less than two hours after this incident began.
