Metro Link train collides with unoccupied vehicle Riverside, Ca- On Tuesday March 21, 2006 at about 0515 hours officers from the Riverside Police Department responded to the railroad tracks at Chicago and Marlborough reference a train versus vehicle accident. A Metro Link passenger train on it’s way from San Bernardino to Oceanside hit an unoccupied vehicle, which was stalled on the tracks. The vehicle then became wedged under the train, having to be removed by a tow truckThere were about thirty passengers on board the train at the time of the collision however, there were no injuries reported as a result of the accident. The train was delayed for about two hours while officers conducted their investigation. There were no other traffic related problems reported as a result of the accident. At this time the investigation is continuing. |
