Riverside, Ca- On 01/15/06, at 1138 hours, the Riverside Police Department received a 911 call regarding a female subject who had possibly shot herself. Officers responded to a residence in the 7500 Block of Mt. Vernon Street and found the 54-year-old victim in a detached garage at the location. The victim had sustained an apparent gunshot wound to the face and was treated at the scene by medical personnel. The victim was transported to Riverside Community Hospital where she was admitted and listed in very critical condition. The name of the victim is not being released at this time.

Detectives responded to the location to assist in the investigation. A handgun was recovered at the scene. The Police Chaplain also responded to the location to assist family members of the victim.
